Scheduling Dataset by time using Once

  • By using this document user will learn to Schedule Dataset using once.

Schedule Dataset using Once: This video contains how to Schedule Dataset using Once in OPNBI.

Scheduling Dataset in the OPNBI based on Once:-

  • In order to schedule the dataset once during an hour, day, week, month or year following steps should be followed:-
  1. Log in to OPNBI using your respective credentials.

  2. Go to Hamburger Menu Docusaurus Slash Introduction > MasterData > Dataset.

  3. User will see the window as below:

  4. We will be using Employees.ds in the dataset section for the purpose of understanding.

  5. Download schedule.zip from this given schedule.zip.

  6. Follow this link & upload the downloaded zip into OPNBI as shown.

  7. Click on schedule icon Docusaurus Slash Introduction to schedule dataset & user will see the following dialog box:-

  8. Go to the schedule tab. By default, Schedule Type will be Time else select Time in schedule type time from the drop down menu.

  9. Choose Once in the Frequency radio button..

  10. Click on icon as shown in the image above & select the time as per requirement from the drop-down.

  11. User can also select time by clicking on calender icon as shown in the image below:-

  12. You can also specify how many times the dataset should re-execute in case of failure and the interval from the drop down menu shown in the figure. For instance, in our case the dataset will be executed twice in case of failure within duration of 5 minutes.

  13. Click on Share in case you want to share the dataset with other users or user roles.

  14. Here the Visibility is kept Internal for this example.

  15. If you want to schedule dataset request to be approved before sending to other users, then check Approval Required.

  • Approval Required option is not available in Schedule Dataset.
  1. Send Reminder specifies how many reminder should be sent.

  2. After days specifies after how many days should the Reminder be sent again.

  3. Approved by specifies the user name, which is Admin in our case.

  4. In order to specify the output, go to the output tab as follows:-

  5. Enter the name by which you want to schedule the dataset in the Name text area, also provide optional suffix if required.

  6. Select the format cds from the dropdown menu.

  7. You can also specify event on success/failure of the dataset which will trigger an event and execute all the waiting for event datasets. We will discuss about this in detail in the event scheduling.

  8. You can also specify the delivery path on your computer where the datset will be downloaded as follows.

  9. The user can also send the dataset as email to the other users using following steps:-

  10. Select the users and the roles from the drop-down menu.

  11. Enter the email address to which you want to send the report via email.

  12. Select a template from the dropdown, we have selected the Default template for our example.

  13. Click on Schedule icon Docusaurus Slash Introduction in order to schedule the dataset.

  14. In case of any further help, the user can click on the Docusaurus Slash Introduction icon to access the OPNBIHUB help documents.

  15. If the user is not satisfied and wants to cancel the schedule request, he can do this by clicking on the cancel button next to upload or by clicking on Docusaurus Slash Introduction button next to the Docusaurus Slash Introduction icon.

  16. The dataset is scheduled and cds file is created. The user can see the schedule request in the Request section of the OPNBIHUB application. This section displays all the reports that have completed, running, waiting for event or scheduled. In case of dataset scheduling failure, an error is also displayed on this page.

  17. After scheduled the dataset using Once, user will see the scheduled dataset in Dataset section.

  18. It will saved in dataset section as the [Dataset Name.cds]. For this example; it will be saved as Employees.cds in Dataset section.

  • The dataset is scheduled and .cds file is created. The user can see the schedule request in the Request section of the OPNBIHUB application. This section displays all the dataset scheduling that have completed, running, waiting for event or scheduled. In case of dataset scheduling failure, an error is also displayed on this page.
